Life honestly just whizzes by you and sometimes your in such a rush you don't take the time to stop and take a deep breath or to even smell the flowers. Everyday though I wake up and I am greatful for everything I have in my life; my health, family, career, friends all whom have been with me at every step,I wouldn't be where I am today without them. With that I shall properly introduce myself:
James Lance Bass aka Lance, Lansten, Poofu or more recently the Popstar who wanted to go into outerspace.Yes, that is me the one the only Lance Bass 1/5th of the muti-platinum record selling boyband Nsync and also an aspiring actor I have one movie under my belt. I am sure you all have heard of On The Line starring the lovely Emmanuelle Chriqui and my best friend Joey Fatone I am currently working on another movie starring Chris Carmack,Amanda Bynes, Jamie Lynn DiScala and Kathy Griffin called Lovewrecked which we recently filmed over in the beautiful Dominican Republic. I run my own production studio along with my partner Wendy Thorlakeson which was called A Happy Place but just recently renamed Bacon and Eggs Llc. Currently we are working on a few films and made for TV specials.
When I was in HS I never in my wildest dreams, I would be doing what I am doing. I sang in a show choir for fun but never thought I would make an actual career out of it. I always thought I would go to college, major in Space Aeronautics, and become an Astronaut. Then we got that call from Justin's mom Lynn, however my mother was not to keen on me joining but after auditioning for them it was relevant and that I was destined to be in the group so I moved to Orlando with the rest of the guys and we started our long path to stardom. It was so unreal when we while we were Europe we became superstars like over night and then when we came back to the US it was strange because we could go out and no would recognize us. We released our album Nsync here in the US in March of 1998 and we would not be where we are today without the help of Disney when they asked us to do one of their In Concert Specials on the Disney Channel. After that, our popularity soared to new heights.
In the middle of our rise to stardom we hit a major bump in the road we found out our management company was cheating us out of royalties so we wanted out of our deal, so we could move to Jive who had promised us more creative reign over our albums and music. After a long court battle, we won our freedom and moved over to Jive Records. In 2000, we released our highly anticipated sophomore “No Strings Attached” and to our surprise, it shattered opening day sales beating our rivals the Backstreet Boys. We toured nonstop promoting the album and even had our own HBO special a live concert we taped in NY’s Madison Square Garden. In 2001, we released "Celebrity" an album that somewhat poked fun at the word “Celebrity.” We launched our biggest stadium tour ever and called it the Pop Odyssey tour it was the biggest tour that summer and we had launched it even way before “Celebrity” had hit stores.
Since then we have taken a hiatus from Touring and recording to follow our own pursuits in other places. Jc and Justin went solo, Chris is also working on an album, and Joey has done movies and Broadway, as for me I have been working on my acting just finished filming “Cursed” and “Lovewrecked” which will hit theaters in the near future. mY most recent project has been the sequel to the video game Kingdom Hearts where I do the voice of Sephiroth.I hope that one day in the near future the guys and I will be back in the studio to do another album,I do miss this aspect of my career and I miss the four guys I call my brothers. Even through all the success I have achieved I still thank god everyday for giving me what I have without my faith and the love of those around me makes this whole ride worth it.
